1. Daily Prayers to St Joseph:
Daily Prayer for Good Works (St. Pius X):
Glorious St. Joseph, model of all who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work in the spirit of penance in expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously by placing love of duty above my inclinations; to gratefully and joyously deem it an honor to employ and to develop by labor, the gifts I have received from God, to work methodically, peacefully, and in moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from it through weariness or difficulty to work; above all, with purity of intention and unselfishness, having unceasingly before my eyes death and the account I have to render of time lost, talents unused, good not done, and vain complacency in success, so baneful to the work of God. All for Jesus, all for Mary, all to imitate thee, O patriarch St. Joseph! This shall be my motto for life and eternity.
Daily Prayer for Protection:
Saint Joseph, Terror of Demons, cast thy solemn gaze upon the devil and all his minions, and protect us with thy mighty staff. Thou didst flee through the night to avoid the devil’s wicked designs; now with the power of God, smite the demons as they flee from thee! Grant special protection, we pray, for children, fathers, families, and the dying. By God’s grace, no demon dares approach while thou art near, so we beg of thee, always be near to us! Amen.
Daily Prayer for Purity (Fr. Don Calloway, MIC):
Saint Joseph, strong spiritual father, defend me against sins of the flesh. Jesus said: “Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.” Saint Joseph, Terror of Demons, protect me from lust, immoral desires in my heart, and impure actions in my body. Help me not to offend God. Here and now, I chain myself to thee and sacrifice everything for the good, the true, and the beautiful. I love thee, St. Joseph, and I thank thee for being my spiritual father. Amen.
2. Daily Act of Consecration (St. Alphonsus de Liguori):
O Holy Patriarch, I rejoice with thee at the exalted dignity by which thou wast deemed worthy to act as father to Jesus, to give Him orders and to be obeyed by Him whom heaven and earth obey. O great saint, as thou wast served by God, I too wish to be taken into thy service. I choose thee, after Mary, to be my chief advocate and protector. I promise to honor thee every day by some special act of devotion and by placing myself under thy daily protection. By that sweet company which Jesus and Mary gave thee in thy lifetime, protect me all through life, so that I may never separate myself from my God by losing His grace. My dear St. Joseph, pray to Jesus for me. Certainly, He can never refuse thee anything, as He obeyed all thy orders while on earth. Tell Him to detach me from all creatures and from myself, to inflame me with His holy love, and then to do with me what He pleases. By that assistance which Jesus and Mary gave thee at death, I beg of thee to protect me in a special way at the hour of my death, so that dying assisted by thee, in the company of Jesus and Mary, I may go to thank thee in paradise and, in thy company, to praise my God for all eternity. Amen.
3. Daily Rosary:
Conclude with the Prayer to St. Joseph (Pope Leo XIII):
To thee, O blessed Joseph, we have recourse in our affliction, and having implored the help of thy thrice holy Spouse, we now, with hearts filled with confidence, earnestly beg thee also to take us under thy protection. By that charity wherewith thou wert united to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and by that fatherly love with which thou didst cherish the Child Jesus, we beseech thee and we humbly pray that thou wilt look down with gracious eye upon that inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased by His blood, and wilt succor us in our need by thy power and strength.
Defend, O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen off-spring of Jesus Christ. Keep from us, O most loving Father, all blight of error and corruption. Aid us from on high, most valiant defender, in this conflict with the powers of darkness. And even as of old thou didst rescue the Child Jesus from the peril of His life, so now defend God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity. Shield us ever under thy patronage, that, following thine example and strengthened by thy help, we may live a holy life, die a happy death, and attain to everlasting bliss in Heaven. Amen. (Indulgence of seven years and seven Lents during October.)

5. Personal Act of Consecration (Minimum Once):
Act of Consecration to St. Joseph (St. Bernardine of Siena)
O my beloved St. Joseph, adopt me as thy child. Take charge of my salvation; watch over me day and night; preserve me from the occasions of sin; obtain for me purity of body. Through thy intercession with Jesus, grant me a spirit of sacrifice, humility, self-denial, burning love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and a sweet and tender love for Mary, my mother. Saint Joseph, be with me living, be with me dying, and obtain for me a favorable judgment from Jesus, my merciful Savior. Amen.
Or Act of Consecration to St. Joseph (Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC)
Saint Joseph, spouse of Mary, virginal father of Jesus, and my spiritual father, I consecrate myself entirely to thee. I lovingly embrace thy fatherhood and take refuge under thy paternal cloak. Help me to pray and be virtuous today. Instruct me in the wisdom of the saints, protect me from the snares of the enemy, and keep me from sinning. Should I take my last breath today, be by my side, and take me to heaven to be with Jesus and Mary. Amen.
Additional Recommended Prayers:
Prayer of a Knight (The Book of Hours, 18th C., directed to either Our Lord or Our Lady, first recited at the Battle of Poitiers in 732):
Immaculate Heart of Mary, grant me the gift of the Divine Grace to protect and conquer my five senses, that I may carry out the seven works of mercy, believe in the twelve articles of our Faith, practice the ten Commandments of the law and, finally, be delivered from the seven capital sins to the last day of my life. Amen.
Prayer for a Happy Death (St. Alphonsus Liguori)
St. Joseph, by that assistance which Jesus and Mary gave thee at death, I beg thee to protect me in a special way at the hour of my death, so that dying assisted by thee, in the company of Jesus and Mary, I may go to thank thee in heaven, and in thy company sing God’s praises for all eternity. Amen.
Prayer to St. Joseph for the Salvation of a Soul (Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC)
O wonderful St. Joseph, I earnestly recommend to thy care the salvation of ___________. Jesus shed His blood for this person; let not the precious blood of our Savior have been shed in vain. Deliver ____________ from the snares of the devil, heal ____________ from the poison of the world, and, I beg thee, do not stop interceding for ___________ until the gates of heaven are opened to their soul. Beg thy spouse to place ___________ under her maternal mantle. While this soul lives on earth, grant them conversion, love of Jesus, Mary, and the Catholic Church, and a return to full participation in the Sacraments. Where else can I turn but to thee, my spiritual father? In thee I have confidence. In thee I have hope. Hear my prayer, my spiritual father, and take away my fears. God will listen to thee. Ask Him for me for the sake of the love thou hast for all of us. Amen.
Prayer to St. Joseph for a Soul in Purgatory (Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC)
Saint Joseph, reigning in heaven with Jesus and Mary, intercede for the souls in purgatory. Today, in particular, I ask thee to turn thy gaze to the soul who is most forgotten in purgatory. This soul longs to see the face of God, O good father. Ask the Holy Trinity to take this soul to the glory of heaven today. Remember me, St. Joseph, when I die. I beg thee to be prompt in delivering me from Purgatory so that I can see thee, Jesus, and Mary face to face. Amen.
General Prayer to St Joseph: (Leo XIII)
O Saint Joseph, foster-father of our Lord Jesus Christ and true spouse of the Virgin Mary, pray for us.
A very special thank you to Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, for his book Consecration to St. Joseph from which came many of these prayers.
